So Make It allows people under the age of 18 to join. They enjoy full membership, except for key holding, and are limited in what equipment they may use.
The membership subscription remains the same as for adult members.
Parental Permission
A parent or legal guardian must consent to their child joining. They must sign the attached form, along with completing the standard membership form on the website.
Junior members must always be accompanied by a nominated supervising adult when in the space, and actively supervised when using workshop machinery. If they are not a parent or legal guardian, the trustees must be informed of any other nominated adults by email.
This responsible adult assumes all responsibility for the actions and safety of the junior member, and must always be in the same area.
Proof of Identity and Address
Due to the difficulty of providing proof of identity and address for minors, a parent or legal guardian shall provide proof of identity and address for themselves.
Keyholding
Junior members are not eligible to become keyholders.
If one or more parent, guardian or responsible adults also become a member, they may become a keyholders under the usual policy.
At age of maturity
Junior members become regular members at the age of 18.
